Amran – Local sources and activists reported Monday, December 15, that a Yemeni citizen, Akram Ayed Al-Turki, died under torture in a prison run by the Houthi group, designated as a terrorist organization, in Amran governorate, northern Yemen, just days after being abducted.
According to the sources, Al-Turki was kidnapped by Houthi gunmen while returning from his farm to his home in Dhaleema district. His abduction was carried out under direct orders from the Houthi-appointed security supervisor in the district, Abu Nasr Abdullah Mohammed Jahaf, who personally oversaw his interrogation and torture inside the prison.
The sources added that the victim’s family received an official notification of his death from the unrecognized district security administration, sparking outrage and condemnation among residents and human rights activists.
